Maximize your gains with Sports Acupuncture with Valley Health Clinic in Albany, Oregon

Have you ever told yourself, "I'm just getting old, so I can’t work out like I used to?"

Pain relief is enough for most people, but athletes expect more than that. For you, pain relief is just a beginning. What you seek is to minimize the potential for future injuries and improve your level of good health to maximize performance.

The 3 building blocks

Acupuncture can help all athletes, from so-called weekend warriors to the dedicated professional. We can enhance performance, prevent injuries and improve recovery from overtraining.

Stage 1: Better injury prevention

In this stage we focus on the old injuries and current pain you may have. We use palpation, range of motion testing, and orthopedic examinations to uncover muscle imbalances. By treating these imbalances we set you up to perform better and decrease you risk of training injuries.

Stage 2: Better recovery

Once we have identified and corrected any imbalances, we need to keep you feeling your best while you train. We will use a Traditional Chinese Medicine System to create a personalized diagnosis. Using this diagnosis we will start addressing thing that are decreasing you gains; such as stress, poor sleep, poor digestion, allergies, frequent colds, and more.

You can only train as hard as you can recover. So if you are not recovering properly then you will not see the benefits of all your hard work.

Stage 3: Better performance

Lastly, after all your hard work, the only thing left to do is get your head on straight. Having a strong mental game is what can make the difference between having a great competition day and a horrible competition day. Towards the end of your Schedule we will focus more on addressing fear and anxiety around completion.
